Beginning in 2017, artist and dancer Eyal Nahum was appointed as the artistic director for the company, after dancing with a number of noted companies in Israel and abroad and creating works in various well-known frameworks.

Artistic concept
Eyal Nahum, the present artistic director of the Jerusalem Dance Theater, believes that dance should express in an effective manner subjects that are relevant to the period and place in which we are located. As a former dancer in classical and modern companies, and as an expert ballet teacher, he believes in practicing a variety of movement techniques in order to create a dance language that is contemporary, rich and developing.
Subjects touching on issues of special or weakened communities receive a unique and empowering stage expression in the company, which situate the company performances in the heart of today’s world.
Contribution to the community
Every year, the company holds performances and voluntary community activities for communities and for special communities such as Holocaust survivors, young people of the “IGY” organization, senior citizens’ homes, “Crembo Wings,” “Yachdav,” a school for children on the autistic spectrum, the “Summit Institute” and more…
